The E. Matilda Ziegler Foundation for the Blind, Inc. is pleased to announce for 2019, four new 3-year research grants were awarded totaling $960,000 to Christian Burgess, PhD, Assistant Professor, Molecular & Integrative Physiology, University of Michigan Medical School; Ross Collery, PhD, Assistant Professor, Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, The Medical College of Wisconsin, Inc.; Jamie Berta Spangler, PhD, Assistant Professor, Biomedical Engineering & Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine; Santani Teng, PhD, Associate Scientist (Pendina), The Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute. The Foundation also awarded a one-time grant for $100,000 to Leah Byrne, PhD, Assistant Professor, Ophthalmology, University of Pittsburgh.
