Research: “Engineered anti-angiogenic proteins to treat retinal eye diseases”
Research
Research Focus Areas: Molecular Design, Immunoengineering, Therapeutic Discovery and TranslationResearch Summary: The repertoire of naturally occurring proteins is limited and many molecules induce multiple conflicting effects. The Spangler Lab aims to redesign existing proteins and engineer new proteins that overcome these limitations. Combining cutting-edge technologies from structural biophysics, molecular engineering, and translational immunology, we create new platforms for the development of targeted therapeutics to treat a broad range of immune diseases.
